The Waywayseecappo Wolverines started their exhibition schedule with a big victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The Wolverines exploded with four goals in the second period, on the way to a 5-1 rout in both team’s first game of the pre-season.
Aiden Ziprick led the way for Waywayseecappo, with two goals in the second, including giving the Wolverines a 3-0 lead.
The eventual game winner came off the hands of Braden Keeble at 8:02 in the second period.
Other goal scorers for the Wolverines were Colby Perrin and Eli Reimer. Adam Paplawski also picked up two assists in the win.
For the goaltenders, Jase Wareham stopped all 10 shots he faced, while Matt Stephens stopped 11 of 12 shots after coming in halfway through the second period.
The only goal for Swan Valley was scored by Jack Karpyshyn.
The Wolverines next exhibition game is against Neepawa on Tuesday, September 7th at the Yellowhead Centre. It will be the first of back to back games against the Titans, when the rematch takes place on the 8th at Waywayseecappo Arena at 7:30pm.
