Wolverines get sixth straight win

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines find themselves in a playoff spot after Friday night as they beat the Swan Valley Stampeders 4-2 in Swan River.

The Wolverines win combined with the Neepawa Titans loss, put the Wolverines in a playoff spot for the first time since November.

The Wolverines got help from all around the team in the game and goaltender Jase Wareham got his third straight win.

Aidan Herring put the Wolverines on the board first just 4:33 into the game.

The Stampeders tied it up before the end of the first frame when Riley Fequet scored his 10th of the season.

In the second period, the Wolverines exploded for three goals, starting with Jackson Foster scoring his first of his junior career.

Aiden Moser made it 3-1 with a tip-in from a Ryan Jossy shot from the point.

Sam McPeak added the fourth Wolverines goal before the end of the period.

The Stampeders added one in the third period when Matthew Munro scored, but that is as close as they would get.

The Wolverines killed three of their four penalties, and were 0/1 on the powerplay.

The Wolverines will next face the Neepawa Titans on Monday afternoon in Wayway at 4:00PM.
