Wolverines Acquire Houle from the Weyburn Red Wings

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired defensemen Daytona Houle (01) from the Weyburn Red Wings in exchange for forward Noah Westgate (00).

Houle, a native of Calling Lake, Alberta, played in 39 games for the Red Wings last season, where he racked up 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists). He was excited to learn he was joining the Wolverines Organization. “Yeah, I’m Excited. I’ve looked at the team’s record the past couple of seasons, and I’m sure the team could have made a deep playoff run if it wasn’t for the pandemic.”

With a year of Junior A experience under his belt, Houle is looking forward to bringing his offensive-defenseman instincts to Manitoba. His Transition into the Wolverines Organization should be quite smooth, as he knows current Wolverine defensemen Reagan Rabbit. The two have spent two years together patrolling the blue-line for Team Alberta at the annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championships. “I know Reagan quite well, we have played a couple of tournaments together in Whitehorse Yukon and Sydney Nova Scotia.”

The Wolverines would like to welcome Daytona and his family into our organization and sincerely thank Noah Westgate for his contributions to our team the past season.
