#TheNextWAYve | Tyson Vouriot

As the old saying goes the last but certainly not the least, we introduce our final pick of the 2020 MJHL draft, Tyson Vouriot.

Vouriot, a product of Winnipeg, who turns 15 today, spent the last season with the Rink Hockey Academy Bantam Prep team. In 30 games, Vouriot racked up 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists), which lead to Tyson being drafted in the eighth round. “I was happy to see I had been picked, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Wolverines organization.”

When asked who he compares his overall game too, he didn’t pinpoint a specific player but noted how he admires Wayne Gretzky’s passing ability. ” My whole life I have been a playmaker, my parents were also passers when they both played, its kind of in my family to be a playmaker.”

As Vouriot continues to focus on his development to further his hockey career, he is hoping to play for the Rink Hockey Academy Elite 15 team next season. He feels that the academy experience will best prepare him to make the jump to junior hockey eventually. ” I felt my overall game improved a lot at the Rink this season. Practicing every day in a family-like atmosphere allows us to push each other, I’m looking forward to next year.”

The Wolverines would like to welcome Tyson and his family warmly into our organization and also thank fans for following our #TheNextWAYve series.
