Wolverines Acquire Cooke From The Estevan Bruins

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired goaltender Randy Cooke (01) from the Estevan Bruins in exchange for future considerations.

Cooke, a native of Souris Manitoba, is excited to return to his home province to continue his junior hockey career “I’m excited to join the Wolverines knowing how good the program has been the last few years. I think we are going to be a top contender in the league next year, and I’m excited for the season to start.”

This past season Cooke, a former Southwest Cougar, got into 14 games for the Bruins while fulfilling their back-up role. His stats improved after the calendar flipped to 2020, as he gained confidence in his game at the next level. “I think my rookie year was a bit of a learning curve, making adjustments from U18 to Jr. A. After Christmas, I gained confidence and had the ability to play against some of the best teams in the SJHL. I’m looking forward to getting back to work in Wayway.”

When the 2020-2021 season rolls around, Wolverines fans will be able to pick Cooke out within the community, based on hisĀ  6″3′, 220-pound frame, something he uses to his advantage on the ice. “I think I do a good job of using my size to get in front of pucks. I would also say that I’m good at playing the puck.”

The Wolverines would like to welcome Randy and his family into our organization.
