Kominko signs with Wolverines

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have announced that  forward Reegan Kominko has signed a letter of intent to play for the Wolverines for the 2023-24 season.

The 17-year-old has been playing with at the RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna, British Columbia. Last season he scored 51 total points in 65 games across two leagues.

The Shoal Lake, Manitoba product last played in the Westman area, when he played for the Yellowhead Chiefs in the WAAA Under-15 league in 2019-20. He had 26 points in 36 games.

Kominko says he is pretty excited to be playing closer to home again.

“The opportunity to play close to home is something I’m looking forward to,” said Kominko. “I just can’t wait to get started.”

Kominko has some family ties to the Wolverines team, with his uncle and aunt being billets with the team over the past few years.

“They would take me to some games, and I would meet some of the players through them as well.”

Since deciding to play three provinces over, Kominko says his game has taken a big stride playing at the RINK Academy.

Reegan describes himself as an offensive player who strives to score.
