Wolverines this Week: Taking on East Division opponents

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines had a set back but then bounced back in a big way last week before their third game was wiped out due to weather in the province.

The Wolverines are now three points back of the Neepawa Titans but have a game in hand for what might be the rest of the way as the two teams compete for the final playoff spot in the West Division.

For Neepawa, they take on the Portage Terriers on Wednesday, Dauphin on Friday and Winkler on Sunday. All teams that are above them in the standings.

Here is what the Wolverines have to fave this week:

Nighthawks @ Wolverines Mar 5/24 – 7:30pm

The Wolverines are trying to get into a playoff spot, while the Nighthawks are trying to hold on to a playoff spot. Niverville is five points up on Selkirk and has played one more game.

The two teams have split their record against each other since Niverville has entered the league, with each team winning each home game. That includes the Wolverines beating the Nighthawks early in February in a thrilling overtime game.

Wolverines @ Pistons Mar 8/24 – 7:00pm

The Wolverines start a home and home with the top team in the MJHL, the Steinbach Pistons.

The Pistons are nearing clinching top spot in the league and will be coming off a big divisional game earlier in the week when they face the Winkler Flyers.

The only time the teams have played in La Broquerie this year, the Pistons beat the Wolverines in overtime, 3-2.

Pistons @ Wolverines Mar 10/24 – 6:00pm

The two teams meet again, but back in Waywayseecappo.

The last time these teams played in Wayway, Steinbach won 4-1.
