Wolverines sign Van Engelen

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are excited to announce that Landon Van Engelen has signed a letter of intent for the 2022-23 season.

The 18-year-old from Tofield, Alberta played last season with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers of the Under-18 Alberta Elite Hockey League. He had 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in 37 games, as the Rangers earned top spot in the league.

He played in 10 playoff games, scoring 3 points, as the Rangers went to the league Final.

Van Engelen says a few current and former Wolverines swayed the young forward to committing to the Wolverines.

“They said there was lots of great opportunities in Waywayseecappo. The coaching is great, lots of good guys, and I know talking to Conrad Phillips, he just loved it (in Waywayseecappo).”

He says he ended up playing against current Wolverine Kaedin Larocque-Wolfe, and got to know Lucas Eagle from his time in the game.

While describing himself, Landon says he is a fast skater, and plays the game with an edge.
