Wolverines shutout by Titans

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines now trail by three points in the playoff race after a bad 7-0 loss to the Neepawa Titans on Tuesday night.

The Titans outplayed the Wolverines from start to finish, outshooting the Wolverines 50-31, as Mason Lobreau got his third shutout of the season.

Neepawa started the scoring near the end of the first period when Mason Hartley trickled one past Kaiden Kirkwood.

It didn’t take long for another for the Titans as Cooper Kasprick scored less than a minute later to make it 2-0.

The Titans just added one more in the second period when Kasprick got his second of the game after a nice post and in shot.

In the third period, the game got more out of hand when Connor Thompson scored less than five minutes into the third period.

The Titans added goals by Caden Hegarty, Connor Thompson’s second of the game and a goal by Colten Alexander to make it 7-0.

Neepawa with the win puts themselves three points up on Waywayseecappo for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division. Both teams have eight games left.

The Wolverines next game will be on Friday in Selkirk to take on the Steelers.
