Wolverines Look For Second Straight Against Blizzard

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will look for their fifth win in the last six games on Friday night when they to make it two in a row against the OCN Blizzard.

After the Wolverines picked up their 20th win of the season on Thursday night in a 3-0 win, the club now sits four points back of Winkler for the eighth and final playoff spot with a game in hand.

The Run Down

Thursday’s win wasn’t pretty by any means, but Isaac LaBelle made the stops when called upon and the Wolverines saw timely goals from Jaymes Knee and Dylan Soosay.

In whats always a spirited affair between these two hockey clubs, some bad blood started to boil over during Thursday nights contest. Fans should expect another intense showdown when the two clubs clash in Waywayseecappo on Friday.

Keys to the Game

While the Wolverines went 1 for 9 on the powerplay Thursday night, the lone powerplay maker came on an empty net goal from Brandon Lawson.

Making a few quicker decisions and getting pucks on net with traffic in front should give the Wolverines a better chance with the man advantage on Friday. Playing physical and being hard on pucks should be enough for the Wolverines to wear down the Blizzard.

News and Notes

The Wolverines line up is just about back to full strength and will see Preston Seymour make his return after battling with the flu. Jackson Tonnies could be a game-time decision, but if he can’t go, expect him to return either Sunday or Tuesday against Winkler.
