Wolverines finish weekend sweep against Selkirk

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines ended up getting a full four points against the Selkirk Steelers over the weekend after a 3-1 win over them on Saturday night.

It was a defensive battle for the Wolverines, who only allowed one goal in the game on 29 shots.

In the first, Adam Paplawski scored at 3:29 in the first to make it 1-0. It was Paplawski’s first goal in the MJHL.

In the second period, the Steelers responded with a powerplay goal from Mathieu Catellier from a pass by Jordan Hughesman.

It was long after when Carson Baptiste batted in a rebound to put the Wolverines up again, this time 2-1.

In the third period, the Wolverines did a great job shutting down the Steelers, never really allowing them to get a big chance near the end of the game.

Waywayseecappo finally put it away when Colby Wotton scored an empty netter to make it 3-1.

Liam Terepsoky stopped 28 of 29 shots for the win!

The Wolverines are now winners of their last three games, and will take on the Portage Terriers next weekend, with the first game in Portage on Friday at 7:30pm.
