Win streak snapped by Pistons

The win streak is now over, as the Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropped a 4-1 decision to the Steinbach Pistons.

The Wolverines seven game win streak came to a halt when the Pistons defended their way to the win.

The Pistons were the only one to score in the first period when Trey Sauder scored with 1:10 remaining in the period by putting one of Kaiden Kirkwood’s glove.

In the second, Steinbach scored when Leo Chambers was able to get his 20th goal of the season.

The Wolverines got one back though when Sebastien Hicks went end to end and was able to beat Pistons goaltender Beck Liden.

In the third period, the Pistons got themselves a two goal lead once again when Kirk Mullen was able to one time a shot past Kirkwood on the powerplay.

The Pistons later added an empty net goal from Sauder to make it the final, 4-1.

Beck Liden stopped 24 shots in the game, while Kirkwood stopped 27 in the loss.

The Wolverines next game will be on Saturday when they head to The Pas to take on the Blizzard.
