Terriers comeback to beat Wolverines

A quick start for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines couldn’t carry them to victory as the Portage Terriers won 4-2 at Stride Place.

The Terriers scored five unanswered goals on their way to their fourth straight win.

In the first period, the Wolverines got out to a hot start when Logan Wotton beat Liam Stevens at 1:25 of the period.

Stevens had to leave the game after the goal, and the Terriers put in Jayden Catellier.

It didn’t take long for Waywayseecappo to put one past him ,as Boston Bird made it 2-0 for the Wolverines.

Near the end of the period, a wrist shot from Mason Smith put the Terriers on the board, and it was 2-1 after one.

In the second, the only goal was scored by Daniel Siso when he finished a 3-on-2 passing play that ended up beating Liam Tereposky.

In the third period, Logan Calder got his 16th of the year, to put the Terriers in front for the first time in the game.

The Terriers added an insurance marker when Dylan Winsor scored his first of the season.

Mason Smith added an empty netter at the end of the game.

Jayden Catellier stopped 26 of 27 shots in relief and got the win because of it. Liam Tereposky 31 of 35 in the loss.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night at 7:30pm when they play at the Waywayseecappo Arena.
