The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are heading to Winnipeg, as they take on the Blues at the Hockey For All Centre.
This is the first time these two teams will play against each other, making it the last team the Wolverines have yet to play this year. The two will play three more times before the end of the season.
The Wolverines come into the game four points back of the Virden Oil Capitals for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division. Both teams have played 36 games this season. The Wolverines lost on Tuesday in a high scoring game to the Winkler Flyers, 7-4.
For the Winnipeg Blues, they sit sixth in the East Division, with 17 points, but have been playing better as of late. They only lost by one goal to the Northern Manitoba Blizzard over the weekend, and beat the Swan Valley Stampeders the night before.
This will be the Wolverines first of seven straight games on the road for the Wolverines, as their next home game won’t be until February 4th. In those seven games, they play Winnipeg teams three times, Virden once, Steinbach once, and once again against SelkirkĀ and Niverville.
The Wolverines will take on the Freeze at the same rink on Friday night.
