Moffatt Ready For New Journey With Wolverines

When the Waywayseecappo Wolverines pulled the trigger and acquired former Winkler Flyers Captain, Brody Moffatt on Monday, it was unchartered territory for the 99-Born Forward from Portage la Prarie.

After being traded for the first time in his four year MJHL career, Moffatt arrived in Waywayseecappo ready to turn the page on a new chapter in his hockey career.

“I’m really excited to be here, Moffatt said before taking to the ice in his first practice with the Wolverines. “I’ve never been through something like this so its new for me but everyone has been very welcoming. I’m just excited to get things going.”

It always helps to know a familiar face when stepping into a new situation and for Moffatt, he comes in knowing another four-year MJHL veteran in Wolverines Captain, Nick Doyle.

“I know Doyle quite well, we got to hang out this past summer and all the other guys have been really friendly so it’s been a nice transition.”

As for what Wolverines fans can expect out of Moffatt on a nightly basis, the veteran of 138 MJHL regular-season games shares that his two-way game is his main focus.

“I’d say that I’m a tough guy to play against, I take pride in taking care of the defensive zone and the offense usually takes care of itself. I’m just excited to get into the lineup on Thursday against Virden.

He won’t have to wait long to go head-to-head with his former club, as the Wolverines are set to host the Flyers on Saturday which is something Moffatt says will be strange but is also looking forward to getting on the ice and picking up two points for his new club.
