Wolverines this Week: Three game homestand

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will begin the post-MJHL/SJHL Showcase schedule with three straight home games, in their quest to heat up the West Division Playoff Race.

The Wolverines find themselves seven points back of the Neepawa Titans for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West. They have the exact same amount of games played, so the two teams will be racing for final spot with 18 games left between the two.

Neepawa starts with a game against the Winnipeg Freeze on Friday in Winnipeg, game in Selkirk against the Steelers on Saturday and plays the King on Tuesday in Dauphin.

The Wolverines schedule will follow a similar pattern.

Blues @ Wolverines – February 2nd 7:30pm

The Wolverines will host the Winnipeg Blues, a team they have defeated all three times this season.

The last contest between the two teams came early in January when the Wolverines won 7-0.

The Blues are tied for last in the league with 17 points.

Nighthawks @ Wolverines – February 3rd 7:30pm

The Niverville Nighthawks and the Wolverines have some similarities heading into this contest, as both teams have had a disappointing January, but are looking to do better in February.

The Nighthawks are in a playoff spot in the East Division, but has not looked as good since the start of the season. They only have a seven point lead on the Steelers for the final spot.

The game will also feature the Wolverines wearing a teal jersey to honour Addison Mitchell.

Terriers @ Wolverines – February 6th 7:30pm

The Portage Terriers are rolling as of late, and trying to join the battle for first spot in the East Division with Winkler and Steinbach.

They trail by seven points, but have played more games than the rest of them.

Portage has beat the Wolverines in all three contests so far.
