Wolverines start weekend with game against Blizzard

After an entertaining 3-2 overtime win over the Selkirk Steelers on Wednesday night, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines start the weekend still in a battle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division.

With something to play for, the Wolverines head to The Pas to take on the Blizzard, a team that will also be fighting for something, a chance to take 2nd place in the West Division, and home ice advantage for the first round.

The Blizzard are coming off a 12 game winning streak that was snapped on Wednesday against the Dauphin Kings, losing 2-0 on home ice. They sit three points up on Dauphin for the 2nd spot, with two games left to play.

For the Wolverines, they will now be score board watching throughout the weekend, and it starts tonight as Neepawa heads to La Broquerie to take on the Steinbach Pistons. The Titans will need to lose all three games left in the season for the Wolverines to get a shot, but they are allowed to lose in overtime or shootout once, only if the Wolverines win out.

The Wolverines will not be eliminated if they lose in overtime or shootout, unless Neepawa heads to the extra frame as well. In other words, you might need picture in picture tonight for the two games.

Wolverines Elimination Scenarios:
– Neepawa wins vs. Steinbach
– Waywayseecappo loses in regulation vs. OCN
– Waywayseecappo loses in extra time, and Neepawa loses in extra time
