Wolverines shut out by Pistons

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines were shutdown for a second consecutive game by the Steinbach Pistons, who shut them out 3-0.

Dominik Wasik had a 26 save shutout, helping him only allow one goal in the two games over the weekend against the Wolverines. It is his fifth shutout of the season.

After no scoring in the first period, the Pistons found their offensive touch in the second period.

It started with Nicholas Mikan scoring at 6:34 into the period off a wrist shot that beat Tresor Wotton.

The Pistons added a second goal when Kirk Mullen scored a powerplay goal when the puck went off a stanchion, and bounced out to the slot and went right on his stick, and was able to put it in.

The third goal came with one second left in the period, when Kirk Mullen was able to tap in a free puck for the Pistons to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the final frame.

No goals were scored in the third by either team, as the Wolverines put up nine shots on net, more than the game on Thursday.

The Wolverines will now play OCN on Tuesday on the road, before they take on the Pistons once again next Friday on the road again.
