Wolverines continue hot streak with win over Kings

It feels like no body is going to stop the Waywayseecappo Wolverines right now.

The Wolverines edged the Dauphin Kings 3-2 to sweep a two game stretch against the team over the last five days.

Jase Wareham was the star of the game for the Wolverines, with 40 saves in the game and many ten-bell saves throughout to help the Wolverines get the win.

The Wolverines were outplayed throughout the game, but scored at opportune times to get the full two points.

After being outplayed at the start of the game, the Wolverines got the first goal when Aiden Moser scored just at the end of a powerplay.

In the second period, the Wolverines scored again with 1:08 left to go in the period, when Jack Clarke got a feed from Ben Roulette to make it 2-0. The goal was scored just seconds after a powerplay expired.

In the third period, Sean Williams made it 3-0 with an early goal at 2:51 into the period.

But the Kings came back with a vengeance, scoring just 42 seconds later when Carter Zalischuk was finally able to beat Wareham.

But the closest the Kings would get was with 36 seconds left in the game when Gabriel Bugeaud got his 13th of the season to make it 3-2.

The Wolverines got their fifth straight win and was able to get within one point back of the Neepawa Titans for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division.

The Wolverines next game will be on Friday as they head to Swan River to take on the Swan Valley Stampeders.
