Shindle’s hat trick not enough as Wolverines fall to Kings

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines fell to the Dauphin Kings at home by a score of 4-3 even with heroics by one of their players.

The Wolverines came close to tying the game in the final minutes but weren’t able to squeak one by Cherepak to fall in their fifth game in the last six.

Kolton Shindle scored a hat trick for Waywayseecappo but it wasn’t enough as the team came up short.

The King scored early on in the contest when Logan Calder scored on the powerplay in the first three minutes.

But the Wolverines answered back when Shindle replied on the powerplay.

In the second, Kaden Bryant scored four and half minutes into it from an assist by Nick Braun.

Nakoden Greyeyes finished off a 2-on-1 to make it 3-1 halfway through the period.

But then Shindle made it a one goal game again on a powerplay beating Cherepak blocker side.

In the last few minutes, the Kings bounced back to make it 4-2 with a goal by Kaden Bryant again.

In the third the Wolverines got one on even strength when Shindle beat Cherepak again for the hat trick goal.

But it would as close as they could get to tying the game.

The Kings with the win beat the Wolverines 7-1 in the season series, and have won four straight over the past two weekends.

The Wolverines move on to take on the Virden Oil Capitals on Thursday at Tundra Oil &
