Four-Goal First Period Powers Wolverines Past Kings

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines scored four unanswered goals in the first period and held on for a 4–1 win over the Dauphin Kings on Wednesday night at the Waywayseecappo Arena Complex.

Dauphin opened the scoring at 6:56, but Blake Farthing tied it just under four minutes later. Liam Flett put the Wolverines ahead at 11:59, then assisted on Isaac Catcheway’s goal at 16:46. Cale Livingston scored 35 seconds after Catcheway to make it 4–1 before the intermission.

Neither team scored over the final 40 minutes. Mariko Bercier stopped all 16 shots he faced in the second and third periods, finishing with 21 saves for the win. Waywayseecappo outshot Dauphin 32–22 and killed off both Kings power plays.

Flett led the Wolverines with a goal and an assist. The win was Waywayseecappo’s second in a row.

The Wolverines visit the Swan Valley Stampeders on Friday, October 2, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m.
