Eight goal second period gives Wolverines big win

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines got a big win over the Winnipeg Blues on Friday night with an 11-2 victory.

Two Wolverines players had hat tricks, and four players had at least three points in the win.

The most impressive part was an eight goal second period for the Wolverines after heading into the frame with a 1-0 score.

Sean Williams scored all of his three goals in the period, Herring scored twice, Brenden Holba scored his first as a Wolverine and Reegan Kominko scored his first MJHL goal.

Herring later added a third goal in the third period to complete his hat trick.

The Wolverines outshot the Blues 44-30 in the game, and were a perfect 2/2 on the powerplay, while killing off 2/3 of their penalties. The Wolverines scored a shorthanded goal in the game.

Jase Wareham picked up his sixth win of the season with a 28 save performance.

For the Blues, Matthew Dewey and Cole Penner scored.

The Wolverines will look to make a win streak with a game against Niverville on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
