Waywayseecappo Wolverines captain Treycen Wuttunee has been named one of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Stars of the Week for October 5–11, following a six-point week.
Wuttunee recorded two goals and four assists in three games, delivering a pair of three-point performances to earn the recognition, presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
The Wolverines captain contributed to every goal in Waywayseecappo’s 3–0 shutout victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders, scoring once and adding two assists.
He matched that production against the Winnipeg Monarchs, recording another goal and two assists in Saturday’s 7–2 victory. The win helped the Wolverines split their weekend series on home ice. Wuttunee’s goal was part of a three-goal burst in the second period that gave Waywayseecappo control of the game.
At the time of the announcement, Wuttunee led the Wolverines in scoring and ranked among the MJHL’s top 10 scorers.
He joins Dauphin Kings forward Brody Green and Niverville Nighthawks forward Marlen Edwards as this week’s honourees.
