Wolverines drop third straight game

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropped their third straight game, after losing 3-2 to the Niverville Nighthawks.

Kaycee Coyle was a Wolverines killer once again, potting two goals in the game, and Raiden Legall stopped 27 shots in the win.

In the first period, it didn’t take long for the Nighthawks to get on the board, as Kaycee Coyle scored 6:37 into the period.

Just three minutes later, Coyle found the net for the second time on the powerplay to make it 2-0.

In the second, the Nighthawks added to their lead when Kyle Bochek scored just under two minutes into the period.

The Wolverines did come back though, with two goals within a minute of each other, as Sam McPeak scored his first of the season on the powerplay, before Sean Williams made it a one goal game for Waywayseecappo.

But that’s as close as they would get, as they did outshoot Niverville in the final period by a margin of 14-2, but no real big chances came.

Marek Andres stopped 21 shots in the loss.

The Wolverines will now face the Neepawa Titans on Friday night in continuation of the road swing.
