Krywy to bring leadership role to Wolverines

It was two years ago, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines brought in a captain from an MJHL team for a playoff run. This week the Wolverines did it once again in bringing defencemen Eric Krywy to the club from the Selkirk Steelers.

Two seasons ago, forward Brody Moffatt was brought to the team after captaining and spending his whole career with the Winkler Flyers.

Krywy will follow in Moffatt’s steps after playing with the Steelers for his whole career and being the captain for the team for the past two seasons.

Krywy will be joining the Wolverines lineup as the team sits 2nd in the West Division and is 3rd in the league.

“I’m excited to join the team, because we have a really good chance to win this year,” said Krywy. “I’m excited to get to work.”

Eric has 15 points in 30 games so far this season, which will put him third in defencemen scoring on the Wolverines team, solidifying the team’s blueline.

“I really like how much offence is generated by the D-men on this team,” said Krywy. “Love to see how much they get into the rush, and how much they contribute on the scoresheet.”

Head Coach Taylor Harnett says Krywy is going to be leader on the team.

“Adding leadership and experience to our locker room is only going to benefit us moving forward,” said Harnett. “Eric will continue to help us grow moving forward. We believe that this addition to our roster will help us be a tougher team to play against”

Krywy says he knows what he can add to the team after being a captain with Selkirk.

“I can be an extra voice in the room, just speak on my experiences being a leader, help on the bench, be an energy guy and do those extra little things that helps us win games.”

Eric will be with the Wolverines when they return back to action as they host the Steinbach Pistons on Friday at 7:30pm.
