September Recap

The Wayway Wolverines played 4 regular Season games in the month of September. The regular season got underway on Friday September 22 with a visit to play the OCN Blizzard in their home opener. This was a great game, a “very playoff like” atmosphere in terms of intensity. 2-1 was the final for the Blizzard. Our Home Opener on Tuesday September 26 was a real party for the 662 fans at the contest with Virden. The night included a “memorable” performance by the Dirty Catfish Brass Band, a 50/50 jackpot that climbed to $1,018 with our new electronic 50/50, and a close game that had the Oil Caps victorious 5-2. A tired group of young men then had to play the very next night, the result not favorable as the Natives downed our club 8-2. To wrap the month, on Friday September 29 a trip to Winkler was not a hospitable one as the Flyers won 7-1.

Now, BRING ON OCTOBER!
