Wotton, Boucher leads Wolverines to win over Blizzard

Two Wolverines players had four points each to help the team to a 5-1 win over the OCN Blizzard.

Logan Wotton and Andrew Boucher both got four points, including three points in the opening frame, to get the Wolverines the win.

The Wolverines started the scoring with two goals within 16 seconds. Logan Wotton put the first one away at 6:11 in the first period. It was then Andrew Boucher who scored right after, assisted by Wotton, to make it 2-0.

The duo of Wotton, Boucher kept up the scoring with 29 seconds left in the period, Wotton got his second of the game.

In the second period, OCN cut into the lead with a shorthanded goal by Brock MacDonald.

The Wolverines got back their three-goal lead though with a powerplay goal by Troy Hamilton, who scored his tenth goal in ten games this season.

There was only one goal in the third, as the Wolverines got one from Max McNeil, which was his first MJHL goal. Andrew Boucher and Logan Wotton picked up assists, which put them both at four points for the game.

Tresor Wotton started and won the game for the Wolverines and had 25 saves in the contest. Meanwhile for OCN, Nick Pineo stopped 13 shots in the first period before he was replaced by Nik Jerris in the second period. Jerris stopped 25 of 27 shots.

The two teams will play two times again next weekend, starting with a contest in Waywayseecappo on Friday at 7:30pm.
