Wolverines win another game in OT

Long are the days that the Waywayseecappo Wolverines were bad at overtime. Now they have a winning record in extra time after beating the Swan Valley Stampeders 4-3 in OT.

NolanGrier scored 1:19 into the extra frame to beat the Stampeders and get a precious extra point.

Swan Valley scored first in the game, when Justin Keck finished off a 2-on-1 with Trey Sauder to beat Tresor Wotton five-hole.

The Wolverines tied it up later on in the period, when a turnover ended up on Mason Franz stick, who dropped it for Aiden Sotas to tie the game up.

The Wolverines got out to a lead quickly into the second period, with a rebound powerplay goal by Cole Carlson.

It wasn’t until the last few minutes of the period when Swan Valley tied it up, when Adam Rajsigl made a move on Tresor Wotton tie the game up. It was 4-on4 at the time.

But the Wolverines got back in the lead when Carson Baptiste scored his 29th of the season, beating Kobe Grant.

Swan Valley tied the game with 6:23 left in the third on the powerplay when Steven Arp was able to jam in a goal.

The game then went to overtime, where Grier got his 14th of the season.

Waywayseecappo stays in front of the West Division with a win, with the Stampeders picking up a point to stay ahead for a bit.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night in Waywayseecappo at 7:30pm.
