Wolverines take it to Swan Valley in first game of weekend

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines routed the Swan Valley Stampeders 7-1 on Friday night to extend their win streak to six games.

Reagan Rabbit and Kolton Shindle got a goal and two assists and Brett Mirwald stopped 27 of 28 shots in the win.

The Wolverines scored seven unanswered after the Stampeders scored in the opening minutes from a goal by Carter Cockburn.

Carson Baptiste tied it up later in the period from assists by Lucas Eagle and Reagan Rabbit.

Colby Wotton later scored to put the Wolverines up by one.

In the second period, it was Kolton Shindle and Reagan Rabbit and Caleb Petrie that scored on Swan Valley’s Kobe Grant to make it 5-1.

Rabbit and Petrie scored goals 23 seconds apart.

In the third period, Boston Bird scored early to make it 7-1.

Andrew Boucher put the finishing touches on the game with a powerplay goal to make it 7-1.

Kobe Grant stopped 35 shots in the loss.

The Wolverines were perfect on the powerplay with their two attempts, while giving up one shorthanded goal.

The two teams will play on Saturday night in Swan River at 7:00pm to finish the weekend off.
