Wolverines sweep Stampeders

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines got their third win of a row by beating the Swan Valley Stampeders by a score of 5-2.

Five different players scored for the Wolverines, on their way to a rout over their division rivals.

The Wolverines scored first near the end of the period when Cole Carlson was given a feed from Carson Baptiste and squeaked it by Kobe Grant.

But the Stampeders tied it up shortly after, when Justin Keck was able to get it past Tresor Wotton.

In the second period, the Wolverines got out in front when Nolan Grier got a fortunate bounce and was able to put it past the goaltender.

Just under 30 seconds later, Ben Roulette then came in and fired it past Grant to make it 3-1 for Waywayseecappo.

Sean Williams added another for Wayway about halfway through the period when Carson Baptiste fed him the puck beautifully.

Going into the third period, it was 4-1.

Guerin Apperley scored to make it 5-1 with a bad angle shot, and the Stampeders added another to make it 5-2, but that’s as close as they got.

Tresor Wotton stopped 22 shots in the win, while Kobe Grant stopped 27 in the loss.

With the win, the Wolverines are in sole possession of first place in the West Division, sitting there with 57 points.

They will next play on Tuesday in OCN to face the Blizzard.
