Wolverines snap losing streak with dominating win

The Wolverines put together a complete 60 minutes and couldn’t stop scoring to beat the OCN Blizzard by a final score of 11-0.

Boston Bird scored three goals, Liam Tereposky got his first ever shutout, and the Wolverines put together a six-goal second period on their way to a rout and series sweep of the Blizzard.

It took nine minutes into the game for the first goal, as Boston Bird was able to beat Steven Bacovsky for a powerplay goal.

It would be the only goal of the period, but the Wolverines outshot OCN 22-4.

But in 1:08 of game time in the early part of the second period, Andrew Boucher, Josh Peppler and Carson Baptiste scored to make it 4-0. After the fourth goal, the Blizzard made a goalie change as Nick Pineo came in net.

Kolton Shindle later on made it 5-0 halfway through the period, and it was later added on by another goal by Baptiste and a goal by Lonan Bulger to make it 7-0 for the end of the second period.

In the third period, both Boston Bird and Jacob Charko scored twice to make the final 11-0.

The Wolverines snapped their three game losing streak in the process, and swept the entire eight-game series with the OCN Blizzard, only giving OCN one point in the process.

Tereposky stopped all 22 shots in the shutout win.

The Wolverines will next play against the Dauphin Kings on Friday night in Dauphin as they attempt to make a run at first in the West Division.
