Wolverines split weekend with Minotauros

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines bounced back with a 3-2 win over the Minot Minotauros to finish off their preseason.

The two teams from different leagues split the weekend series after Minot won on Friday with a 4-3 win.

In this game, the two teams were scoreless after two periods until the Wolverines finally broke through with Mikey Thomas getting a goal just 1:25 into the third period.

Sebastien Hicks made it 2-0 with a powerplay goal just a few minutes later, and then Rhett Perrin scored to make it 3-0.

Just 14 seconds after Perrin scored, the Minotauros scored from Jakub Habla to make it a one goal game.

With 1:51 left in the game, Briggs Knott made it 3-2, but the Wolverines held on for the win.

Waywayseecappo ended up killing nine minutes of penalties in the first period, and were outshot in the game 39-22, but Jase Wareham was able to stop everything until the last minutes of the game.

The Wolverines will now start their season on Friday night when they host the Virden Oil Capitals at 7:30pm at the Waywayseecapp
