Wolverines sign Owen Pringle

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are happy to announce that defencemen Owen Pringle has signed a letter of intent for the 2022-23 season.

The 17-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta is another product of the Maple Leaf Athletic Club in the Alberta Elite Hockey League U18 AAA.

As an assistant captain with the club, he put up 14 points in 38 games. He also suited up with the Sherwood Park Crusaders in the AJHL for three games last season.

Pringle says he was looking for an organization that treated their players good, something he saw with the Wolverines when he came down for a playoff game.

“I know a couple guys on the team, and they had nothing but great things to say about the team,” said Pringle. “When I came to see the facility, I was treated very good as well.”

“Owen is smart in his own end,” says Wolverines Associate Coach Josh Lee. “He moves the puck well, and takes care of the front of his net. He is a competitor.”

Pringle says he is a puck moving defencemen with a good first pass and a good skater.  He is also a a vocal leader in the dressing room.
