Wolverines Set to Host Pistons in Game One of Back to Back

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will meet the Steinbach Pistons for the first time this season in Waywayseecappo on Saturday night, in the first half of this weekends back to back series.

Steinbach returned to the ice on Friday night in OCN where the Pistons were able to pick up a 4-2 win over the Blizzard in what started off a busy weekend schedule for the Pistons. The Wolverines are coming off a seven-day break which saw the club drop a 6-3 decision to the Portage Terriers prior to the SJHL/MJHL Showcase break.

Previous Meetings

In game one of the regular season, the Wolverines went into Steinbach and defeated the defending league champion Pistons, 3-2. Since then, the two clubs have met just once more in Steinbach on November 30th when the Pistons put together a solid game and took a 5-2 win over the Wolverines.

Last Ten Games

The Pistons have gone 7-3-0 in their last ten games, while the Wolverines 3-6-1-0 record has the club three points out of the final playoff spot in the MJHL. Waywayseecappo saw a third period lead evaporate in three of their last ten games which has held the Wolverines back from gaining ground in the race for the playoffs.

News and Notes

Wolverines fans will get their first look at a few new editions to the lineup on Saturday night after acquiring a trio of players at the trade deadline. Karstin McDonald, former Piston Trent Halfdanson and Jack Tonnies are expected to be in the line up on Saturday night.

Former Wolverines Riley Vautour and Caleb Paisley will make their first appearance in Waywayseecappo since being traded in separate deals.
