Wolverines return to home ice against Winkler

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are coming off an impressive overtime loss to the Steinbach Pistons on Wednesday night, to now host arguably the second best team in the league, the Winkler Flyers on Sunday night.

It’s in the midst of a gruelling stretch that sees the Wolverines play the top three teams in the MJHL in four of five games.

The Wolverines have had issues with the Flyers this year, losing 9-0 and 5-2 in the first two matchups of the season. The last time the two teams played, the Wolverines were briefly up 2-1 in the game, before giving up the next four goals.

Heading into the game, the Wolverines are five points back of Neepawa for the final playoff spot in the West Division with one game in hand. Neepawa takes on Steinbach as well on Sunday.
