If any team looks primed to break into the Wolverines and Kings top positions in the West Division, it may be the Waywayseecappo Wolverines next opponent, the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The Stampeders have slowly broken away from the rest of the West Division teams and sit in third in the division by four points.
They have gotten in that spot by putting up some good wins since the start of the 2022 portion of the schedule. That includes beating the Winnipeg Blues once, Steinbach Pistons twice, and Dauphin Kings once.
But going up against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for their next four games might be their biggest test yet.
The Wolverines have won five straight, and made their way to first in the West before Dauphin jumped them on Wednesday night with a win over these Stampeders. The Wolverines have a game in hand.
Waywayseecappo leads the season series 3-1 with some wild games against the Stampeders. That includes the finale on October 9th, when the Wolverines beat Swan Valley 8-6.
With the Stampeders making a case for the West’s third best team, this could be a playoff preview as well.
The Wolverines will be playing the Stampeders four times over the next two weeks, but will have a game against the Steinbach Pistons sandwiched in between all the game, with them hosting the Pistons on Monday.
