The Waywayseecappo Wolverines got off to a quick start once again, and held on for a 5-2 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders in preseason action.
The Wolverines scored quick, just 1:01 into the game, when Sebastian Stone was able to slip it by Stampeders goaltender Owen Martyniuk for the opening goal.
The Wolverines scored another when Dawson Madden scored at the 13:12 mark of the opening frame. Trace Shumlas was able to get a assist on both goals.
In the second period, Stone scored his second of the game when he got another quick goal.
The Wolverines added another to make it 4-0 when Tytan Johnson scored his second of the preseason.
In the third period, the Stampeders had a little bit of a comeback when Eric Jiag and Ekam Dhaliwal score to make it 4-2.
But Drew Peters scored in the empty net to put it away, with a 5-2 score.
Both teams chose to use two goalies in the game.
The Wolverines will next play against the Neepawa Titans on Friday night at 7:30pm.
