Wolverines Meet Blizzard To Begin Two Game Road Swing

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will travel north to OCN on Thursday night in search of the clubs fourth straight win to open the season when they meet the Blizzard in their home opener.

After opening the regular season with a pair of wins over the Neepawa Natives in a home and home series, Waywayseecappo put on their work boots in a hard-fought win over the Dauphin Kings on Tuesday night.

It was the Wolverines who controlled the pace for the first two periods before the Kings started applying pressure in the third. The Wolverines were able to get some great stops from Goaltender, Thomson Phinney and saw offensive contributions from up and down the lineup with four different goal scorers.

The Wolverines have certainly showcased their speed through three games which has given their opponents a headache at times.

Blizzard Outlook

There is plenty of unknown with the OCN Blizzard this season as they have yet to play a regular-season game.

In the preseason, the Wolverines beat the Blizzard on home ice while the Blizzard answered back at home with a win of their own. Despite their line up featuring many new faces, it is always expected to be a hard-fought battle against the Blizzard, especially in their home opener.

News and Notes

Through three games, the Wolverines powerplay continues to sit above a thirty percent conversion rate at 30.8% which is good enough for second in the league. The clubs penalty kill is once again near the top of the league in third at 91.7%.

The Wolverines boast the leagues best goal differential at +9 with 12 goals scored and only 3 given up.

Jaymes Knee is tied for the league lead in scoring with 2 goals and 3 assists through three games.
