Wolverines make move for Mirwald

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are excited to announce the acquisition of goaltender Brett Mirwald from the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL.

The 18-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan played with the WHL Moose Jaw Warriors for the past two seasons. During the 20/21 WHL East Division Hub, Eric led the WHL in Rookie starts with 16 games played , finishing with a .895 save percentage and 3.54 goals against average.

Mirwald does have some CJHL experience, playing in two games with the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL in 2019-20 where he posted a 2.01 GAA and a .953 SV%.

He says that he likes what he sees with the Wolverines.

“It’s always promising to see that the team is good and successful, and whenever you have a chance to go far with a team, it’s exciting”

Mirwald says he’s excited to compete with the team.

“I’m gonna have a chance to play my game and being given the opportunity is really exciting.”
