The Waywayseecappo Wolverines lost to the top team in the MJHL, the Steinbach Pistons, by a score of 3-1 on Saturday night.
After two periods of tied hockey, the Pistons scored two in the third period to give them their seventh straight win.
The Pistons got through the Wolverines strong penalty kill, with them scoring at a 50% clip, 2/4 in the game.
The two teams exchanged goals in the second period, when Sam Noad scored off a bad line change for the Wolverines, scoring on the powerplay.
The Wolverines answered on the poweprlay, when Cole Hunter was able to put away a lose puck, to tie the game up at 1.
In the third period, the Pistons got out in front, when Brayden Berg was able to beat Jase Wareham. Wareham had been battling for thirty seconds without a stick, and was without it when they scored.
The Pistons put the game away when Jackson Kostiuk scored on the powerplay with 6:28 left in the game.
Christian Green stopped 24 of 25 shots in the win for the Pistons. Wareham stopped 29 of 32 in the loss.
The Wolverines will take on the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Sunday night at 6pm to complete the weekend.
