Wolverines lose big in Cote First Nation

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines lost 10-2 to the Yorkton Terriers in Cote First Nation on Sunday night.

The Terriers, dressing most of their regular season roster, won handily in the Wolverines third game in three days.

The Terriers got off to a hot start with their first goal 4:32 into the game when Tate Schofer scored from the point on a powerplay.

Schofer scored his second of the game on a back door goal to make it 2-0.

In the second period, the Terriers exploded with four goals in the first half of the period. Thierry Laliberte scored two, Thomas Ries and Trey Penrod scored one each.

After a goaltender change, the Terriers got another redirect as Tate Schofer got his hat trick goal.

Jacob McKague got a goal for the Wolverines to conclude the period down 7-1.

The Terriers reached the 10 goal mark when Jye Zawatzky, Jeff Hammond and Jaron Desoyners scored in the third.

The Wolverines managed to score one when Cole Hunter scored with a couple seconds left.

The Wolverines will continue their preseason on Tuesday in Ochapowace Nation when they take on the Melville Millionaires.
