Wolverines lose big against Pistons

The first half of a back to back against the Steinbach Pistons did not start well for the Wolverines, losing 9-2 in La Broquerie.

The Wolverines trailed throughout the game and were outshot 49-33 in the game.

The Pistons started out the game strong with three goals in the opening period.

Samuel Noad and Kirk Mullen scored just a minute and a half apart to make it 2-0 before the halfway mark of the first.

Jackson Kostiuk later on took advantage of a turnover and was able to beat Jase Wareham to make it 3-0 before the buzzer.

In the second period, the Wolverines got within two goals when Neo Kiemeney tipped in a shot from Jackson Roth.

But the Pistons regained their lead and added one more when Hunter Degelman and Liam Doyle scored to make it 5-1 to end the second frame.

The Pistons scored four goals in the third period with Noads scoring his second of the game, James Fuchs, Brayden Berg and Grady Hoffman all finding the back of the net.

The Wolverines did score one more time at the end when Jack Clarke scored to make it 9-2.

The Wolverines switched goalies after the 7th Pistons goal and Kaiden Kirkwood finished the game.

Both teams were 1/2 on the powerplay in the game.

The two teams will play again on Sunday night in Waywayseecappo.
