The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are looking to make it six straight wins against the OCN Blizzard on Friday night at the Waywayseecappo Arena.
The two teams engaged in their most tightly contested game in the season series so far back on Sunday with the Wolverines winning in a shootout, 3-2.
Waywayseecappo had to come back twice in the game, with the Blizzard’s Steven Bacovsky playing an important role in the game, stopping 37 shots on net.
The game will be an important one in the standings for both teams. The Wolverines are only one point back of the Dauphin Kings for first place in the West Division. The Kings are playing the Virden Oil Capitals twice over the weekend. As for the OCN Blizzard, they fell five points back of 4th in the West (the last playoff spot) and need to pick up points soon to get back into the hunt.
As for streaks, the Wolverines will be looking for their fourth straight win, and the Blizzard will be trying to not lose four straight.
The two teams are scheduled to play on Sunday once again, but in Russell, Manitoba even though the Blizzard will be the home team for the game. The two teams will have one more scheduled game to make up, but it has not been scheduled as of yet.
