Wolverines Look For Fourth Straight On Halloween Night

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will wrap up their three-game homestand on Thursday night when they host the OCN Blizzard in search of a fourth straight win.

Fresh off of a 5-2 triumph over the Selkirk Steelers earlier in the week, Waywayseecappo has gotten back to business after an early-season skid.

The Wolverines were dominant at times against the Steelers, outshooting Selkirk 41-22. Steelers Goaltender, Levi Mitchell was one of the only reasons the Wolverines were held to five goals.

For the Wolverines and Blizzard, it will be just their second meeting of the season. In their first, OCN opened the scoring before the Wolverines scored three unanswered goals including an empty netter that sealed the 3-1 victory.

Blizzard Outlook

In their last four games, it’s been a tale of two teams for the OCN Blizzard. OCN would pick up wins against the Portage Terriers and Swan Valley Stampeders earlier this month before dropping back to back games against the Selkirk Steelers.

Leading the way for OCN has been 20-year-old Ryan Butler who has scored nine goals in nine games with four assists.

Zack Cloutier has carried the mail in net for the Blizzard, going 4-5-1-0 on the year with a .905 save percentage.

News and Notes

Leading into the action on Thursday night, Waywayseecappo sits in a tie for first place with the Portage Terriers at 23 points apiece.

The parity across the league continues to be showcased as just seven points separate first through eighth place in the MJHL.

After an eight-game powerplay scoring streak was snapped against the Stampeders, the Wolverines got back to business on the powerplay and scored with the man-advantage against the Steelers.

Rayman Bassi comes into Thursday night as the hottest Wolverine on the score sheet. Over the last eight games, Bassi has scored four goals and eight assists.

OCN sits three points back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the league with a game in hand on the Dauphin Kings who they are chasing.
