Wolverines’ LaBelle Nominated For League MVP and Top Goaltender

Wolverines 20-year-old Goaltender, Isaac LaBelle has been nominated for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s MVP award and Top Goaltender.

Isaac LaBelle’s name appeared twice when the MJHL announced their league-wide nominations on Monday morning and it comes as no surprise to those who have seen the young man from Saskatoon in net this season.

LaBelle has played the most minutes in the league this season (2651) while compiling the fourth most wins in the league (21).

His 2.53 Goals Against Average is good enough for sixth best while his .918 Save Percentage has him ranked seventh among goalies with at least 20 games played.

Along with his outstanding numbers, Isaac was named as the Wolverines RBC Community Ambassador for his contributions off the ice. He was also named to the MJHL/SJHL Showcase where he put on a performance to remember, stopping all 30 shots in a 4-0 shutout against the SJHL, earning player of the game in the process.

The winners are expected to be announced late this week.

Congratulations Isaac LaBelle!
