Wolverines Host Natives With Preseason In Full Swing

On the heels of a thrilling 5-4 preseason-opening win over the OCN Blizzard, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines return to home ice on Wednesday night to host the Neepawa Natives.

It will be a much different looking roster for the Wolverines in preseason game number two which will feature a trio of veterans from last years squad including Preston Seymour, Dylan Soosay and Xavier Halterman. 2000-born Andy Acers will also be inserted into the lineup on Wednesday.

2001-born Wolverines, Cody Shearer, Logan Wotton, Kieran Thiessen, and Reagan Rabbit will make their debut in the lineup on Wednesday evening. 2001’s Keaton Mercredi, Lonan Vincent Bulger, Tanner Clyne, and Chase Fischer will also suit up for the Wolverines.

Four players from the 2002 class will be in the lineup on Wednesday night, including Nathan Falloon, Matthew McLeod, Colby Joseph, and Cameron Trimble.

Wyatt Tweet and Colby Wotton will round out the Wolverines roster as the only 2003-born players to suit up.

In between the pipes will see Wolverines draft pick, Nathan Falloon and free-agent camp invite, Adam Swan.

On the flip side

Neepawa will ice more of a veteran lineup with five 20-year-olds, and three 19-year-olds taking to the ice on Wednesday night.

Their roster will also feature five 18-year-olds, five 17-year-olds and a pair of 16-year-olds.

Tuesday night should be another good test for the Wolverines as they are set for their second preseason matchup.

On Thursday night, the Wolverines will travel to Yorkton for an interleague preseason game against the SJHL’s Terriers.
