The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will look to build on a strong opening weekend when they visit the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Tuesday night.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Roy H. Johnston Arena in The Pas. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two MGEU West Division clubs.
Waywayseecappo enters the matchup with a 1-0-0-1 record after collecting three of a possible four points during its home-and-home series against the Virden Oil Capitals.
The Wolverines opened the regular season with a 5-2 victory at the Waywayseecappo Arena Complex on Friday. The teams met again the following night in Virden, where the Oil Capitals earned a 5-4 shootout victory.
Carter Haney, Max Collyer and captain Treycen Wuttunee share the early team scoring lead with three points apiece. Haney has scored three goals through his first two games as a Wolverine, while Collyer has recorded two goals and an assist. Wuttunee has contributed one goal and two assists.
Northern Manitoba will be searching for its first victory of the season after dropping both ends of its opening-weekend series against the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The Blizzard suffered a 5-2 loss at home on Friday before falling 4-2 in Saturday’s rematch in Swan River. Liam Carlone and Brady Green lead Northern Manitoba with one goal and one assist each, while Kade Stringer has collected two assists.
Tuesday’s game presents an opportunity for the Wolverines to continue their positive start while solving a building that proved difficult for them last season.
