Wolverines get first win

After nearly a week off, the Waywayssecappo Wolverines found themselves with their first win of the season after a 5-1 win over Neepawa.

Wearing their orange jerseys for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the Wolverines started out strong, were able to score their first goal of the season in front of their home crowd, and finish off with a dominating win.

The Wolverines got started halfway through the first when Jaxon Grosdidier went end to end and was able to beat Mason Lobreau to give the Wolverines their first goal in front of the home crowd.

Three and a half minutes later, it was Jonah Marshall from the point that was able to get through a crowd in front to score, and make it 2-0. On that goal, Waywayseecappo product Xander Mecas had an assist in his first ever game.

The Wolverines made it 3-0 when Grosdidier scored again, after being able to push in a rebound.

In the second period, the Wolverines added one more when Deegan Wapass was able to take a rebound and bury it behind Lobreau to make it 4-0 heading into the third period.

Waywayseecappo made it 5-0 when Jonah Marshall scored an identical goal as his first one.

Neepawa was able to get one past Jase Wareham though, with a wrap around scored by Mason Hartley.
