Wolverines get big win over Blues

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines stopped their five game slide to knock off the Winnipeg Blues with an 8-1 win.

Caden Carlson had two goals and an assist, while Andrew Boucher in his second game back, had four assists.

The Wolverines poured it on in the first period when Leyton Smith scored on the powerplay, while Caden Carlson added two more.

In the second period, Cody Blight and Nolan Grier both had powerplay goals to make it 5-0 in the second intermission.

In the third period, Boone Mathison and Carson Baptiste had powerplay goals, while Cole Carlson scored the team’s 8th goal. Winnipeg got a goal from Kai Elkie.

The Wolverines were 5/6 on the powerplay and were perfect on the penalty kill, killing all five Blues powerplays.

Marek Andres stopped 25 shots in the win as well, getting his second win of the season.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night at the Waywayseecappo Arena at 7:30pm.
