Wolverines finish West Division schedule with win

It was a wild one from start to finish, but the Waywayseecappo Wolverines ended up with a win over the Neepawa Titans with the final score of 7-4.

Carson Baptiste scored two goals and had an assist to help the Wolverines to their third straight win over Neepawa and fifth straight game with a point over the past three weekends.

The Wolverines had to hold off two Neepawa comebacks, where the titans came back from two goals down twice to even the score.

But the game winner came off the stick of Colby Wotton with 14 seconds left in the second period. The goal was right after Neepawa tied it up at 4-4 with 28 seconds left in the period.

Baptiste ended up with the insurance marker in the third from a pass from Colby Wotton to make it 6-4. He then added the empty netter to make it 7-4.

Wolverines goaltender Liam Tereposky stopped 25 shots in the win, including a very important 8 in the third period. Gavin Renwick stopped 28 shots in the loss for the Titans.

Both teams now will head to the MJHL Showcase in Portage la Prairie.

Neepawa will take on the Winnipeg Freeze on Monday at 10:30am and Portage on Wednesday at 10:30am.

The Wolverines will get two primetime games, playing the Winnipeg Blues at 7:30pm on Tuesday and Steinbach on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
